Say No When You Want to Say No

Today’s English
April 9th, 2017

(Read the following poem without thinking about the learning part included in it.)

A Word about the Awakened Bird…

Waking up with no alarm,
Singing pop songs with no words,

Never touching “doctors recommended” tooth paste,
Never using “celebrities recommended” soaps,

Having no school to go, no exams to appear for,
Having no office to work, no manager to scold,

Having no religion to follow, no temple to go,
Having no name from parents, no caste from relatives,

Worrying neither about breakfast nor about lunch,
Neither about bank balance, nor about promotion,

Having none to teach cooking with microwave oven,
Having none to introduce apparel of recent trend,

Not a library to improve its knowledge,
Not a writer to inspire it as a role model.

Nobody ordered, “Get aadhaar at once"
Nobody asked, “Where is your license?”

Flies with borders nowhere, no one to ask for passport,
Parts with nature nowhere, no one to teach this life of freedom.

Every country is independent with a flag,
But nothing like the freedom of a bird.

Everyone goes on  tour with a camera,
But nothing like the journey of the bird, keeping no album.

Men, guarded and secured by police and law, no longer happy.
Birds, everywhere none too secured, live the life of freedom with eternal joys.
